About this site

Photography, Tech & Travel.

My first footsteps into Photography we’re at High School in the 1980’s. These were the days of film, chemicals and darkrooms bathed in red light. Here I learnt the basics of composition, film development and printing. I loved it. For many years I enjoyed shooting with film and making prints in my makeshift home darkroom, a temporarily converted bathroom.

Turn the clock forward a decade and digital photography was born. As a tech fan and “early adopter”, I purchased my first Digital camera in 1999. Film was the prevalent format then, but the potential of this new technology was obvious. The Nikon Coolpix 950 featured a mind blowing 2 Megapixels - yes Iaughable by today’s norms. A few years later I purchased Canon’s first consumer DSLR. The D30 offered an even more impressive 3 Megapixels. Of course the real transformation here wasn’t the megapixel count but the total freedom that digital offered. The ability to take unlimited photos, preview them, and edit them digitally (bye bye smelly darkroom) was a game changer. The embedded metadata was another neat feature, which decades later allows me to recall the specific details of each shot.

Over the years I’ve combined my fascination for tech, passion for travel and joy of photography, capturing moments in time from around the world. These are some of my favourites.

I hope you enjoy viewing these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
